I'm currently trying out some new things and decided to test myself on polymer clay and sculpting/clay modelling. In ths case, I tried to sculpt a male Akita Inu. It was quite a challenge and I didn't succeed at all (the head needs to be rounder - and I got a few tips after finishing from other Akita Inu owners. I couldn't use my pup beause she's too young and her head is not fully pronounced yet. She's got this typical puppy look! xD). But for the first try, I guess, it's not that bad and I learnt A LOT and hope that I'll be able to make it look better next time! The colouring was also challenging and I seriously had no idea how to start. So, what to do? Just painting without thinking xD I hope you like it, anyway!
FYI, tools used: • armature: tape 3 different sizes of wire wire cutter
• modelling: polymer clay sand paper for mopping up approximately 15 layers of acrylic (slightly added shadows and lightpoints to accentuate muscles and alike) colour chalks
• finishing: gold dust bronze powder gloss varnish for tongue+eyes pearl gloss for nose matt finishing
*XMoonlight-SonataX made an amazing sculpting of my young Akita Inu girl. You definitely need to check it out! It's just perfect! Thanks again ^^
I like how realistic the face came out and the fur looks amazing.
you did a great work on the details - well done
